The following graduate programs in mathematics education (presented in alphabetical order) have faculty that are affiliated with HAMTE and are therefore committed to continuous improvement and the mathematics education community in Indiana. Degree Options: Our graduate degrees include a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and a (online) Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Mathematics Education
Description: The Ph.D. program in mathematics education offers a vibrant and diverse community of faculty and graduate student scholars who conduct transformational research grounded in education theory and classroom practice. You can tailor the Ph.D. program specifically to your individual needs and interests. Research in mathematics education is not limited to teaching and learning. You can also explore global practices and teaching, or issues that surround the teaching of mathematics like curriculum, policy, or equity.
The Masters program is completely online and takes ~20 months to complete, with students taking only 3-4 credits every 8 weeks. The Math Ed concentration offers a range of opportunities to develop your expertise in mathematics and in the methods of teaching mathematics to meet the needs of diverse learners. Courses emphasize connections between K-16 mathematics content and effective, research-based instructional strategies.

Degree Options: USI offers a Masters of Science in Education in Secondary Mathematics Teaching.
Description: The Master of Science in Education degree program with an emphasis in Secondary Mathematics Teaching is designed to enhance the content knowledge and skills of licensed, practicing secondary mathematics teachers. Eighteen credit hours in mathematics classes enables graduates of the program to teach dual-credit mathematics courses in Indiana high schools and to teach mathematics at some higher education institutions.
